One area where crowdsourcing can be particularly useful, but which is being used in a few countries, and not too much, is the e-government. Crowdsourcing can do much pulling policy closer to citizens and allowing them to participate to a greater extent … if politicians allow it, of course.
Internet, is it necessary in crowdsourcing?
The question is clear, do you need internet to classify an initiative as a crowdsourcing initiative? Can the vote via SMS for the expulsion of a reality show participant be considered crowdsourcing? As a bit of self-hype is not bad from time to time, I’m glad to share with you that on July 26, last friday, I finally made my Ph.D. dissertation about the relationship between crowdsourcing and collective intelligence. It’s great to finish a cycle and it’s great (really great) to become a doctor (Ph.D.).
